Policies

Patel Construction recognises that its activities have a wide-ranging environmental implication in both the long and short term. These can potentially be either damaging or beneficial.

It is therefore the policy of the Company to: –

  • Aim to minimise environmental damage and maximise opportunities for environmental enhancement.
  • Assess and consider environmental impact as an important part of its decision making process.
  • Comply with legal requirements and establish targets to achieve a progressive reduction in environmental impact in all parts of its operation.
  • Promote personal responsibility and effort on the part of employees at all levels to avoid and prevent environmental damage and to act as good neighbours to those affected by construction activities.
  • Provide such assistance, training and information as may be necessary to personnel at all levels and audit environmental performance.
  • Provide and display this policy and such written instruction as may be necessary to assist in the implementation of the Environmental Policy, HSE and legal requirements.
  • Review this policy annually.

The senior Management and Supervisors on site are responsible for the implementation of the Company Environmental Policy and will ensure that:

  • Work is carried out in accordance with all relevant Acts, Regulations and Company Environmental Policy, as defined in the Patel Construction
  • Site Safety Guidance and Safety Management Systems
  • Waste is removed in accordance with legislation by registered carriers to licensed tips
  • Measures are taken to control ground, river and coastal water pollution
  • Measures are taken to control noise pollution
  • A good neighbour policy is implemented
  • Ozone depleting gases such as CFCs and Halons are not discharged to atmosphere
  • Wild life, habitats, flora and fauna, trees, archaeological and heritage remains are protected as appropriate
  • Materials wastage is minimised, recycling options promoted and water, paper and energy conserved
  • Environmental incidents are investigated, reported and preventative action taken against repetition
  • Seek to conserve the use of energy, water and paper and promote the use of recycled materials at its offices
Construction Management Team

Patel Construction provides environmental assistance and auditing through our Safety Managers, who will be made to submit environment reports and discuss environmental matters at Board Meetings, Safety and Environmental Consultative meetings and Safety and Environmental Management Meetings.
